With a rapidly growing global demand for remote teaching, the higher education ecosystem is gradually transitioning towards using more technology enabled methods using various online platforms for course delivery. However, finding the holy grail for online assessment continues to be the Achilles heel for educators and institutions. Although various e-proctoring tools are available to facilitate the process of e-proctoring for online assessment, its acceptability and usage remains tentative amongst both educators and universities. Online courses are apparently more vulnerable to academic dishonesty (e-dishonesty), and if e-proctoring is a fool-proof solution remains a question. Furthermore, e-proctoring has been suggested to be a cause of stress and anxiety amongst students with exam performance implications.

In this presentation,  Dr. Swarup Mukherjee provided some preliminary evidence on e-proctoring in sports science courses and discussed the findings in the light of existing evidence.

Dr. Swarup Mukherjee is a trained Physician with specialisation in the area of Sports Medicine. He is an International Sports Medicine Federation certified Team Physician and World Health Organisation certified trainer in disability prevention and rehabilitation.
