Guidelines for Presenters

Guidelines for Short Communication Presenters (10 minutes)

1) Presentation Specifications
  • Software: Microsoft Power Point 2007 and subsequent versions.
  • The format of the slides should be in Microsoft Power Point (.ppt or .pptx) or PDF. Please save your presentation by session number and family name e.g. “5A_Tan.ppt”.
  • Use screen aspect ratio of 16:9 (widescreen)*
  • Suggested fonts: Arial or Times New Roman.
  • Images in your presentation: It is preferable that the images are JPG format. The image resolution must not exceed 1024 x 768 pixels (width by height).
  • Video Formats will be accepted: WM, AVI
  • All presentations must run on the Windows operating system. Conference computers will run on at least Windows 7. Please create your presentation in PowerPoint for Windows or at least test it on a Windows computer before submitting it if you must use PowerPoint for Mac.
  • Presenters will NOT be allowed to use their own laptop computers. Apple computers will NOT be available.
 
Each presenter will have 10 minutes for their presentation.

Time allotted for presentations will be strictly observed in order to adhere to the conference schedule and to enable delegates to move between talks for concurrent sessions. 

All presentations must be made in English. Presenters are to use Microsoft Power Point slides for their presentation. We suggest a maximum of 10 slides, excluding title and references, for each presentation.
 

2) Submission of presentation slides and presentation details
All presentation slides are to be uploaded at the presenters’ room, at least 1 session break before your talk, or preferably the day prior to your talk.

Submission constitutes your consent to publication of your session outline and recording of your presentation. Please inform us if you do not wish the content or outline of your presentation to be recorded and posted.
 

3) Conflict of Interest
It is the intent of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU to provide high-quality sessions focused on medical education research, scholarship and innovations that is free from commercial influence or bias. Thus, the presenting author is requested to declare any potential conflicts of interest for all authors by emailing info@transformmeded.org.

Please ensure there is no material within your presentation which could be seen as marketing a commercial product or Programme.
 

4) Conference Registration
All presenting authors must register for the Transform MedEd 2018 by 30 September 2018 or their abstract(s) will be automatically withdrawn.

  • Microsoft Power Point->Design->Page Setup
  • Select “Slides sized for” select “On-screen Show (16:9) on the drop down list.
Guidelines for Poster Presenters 
​

All posters should be printed beforehand by the presenting author. There will neither be printing services available on site, nor will the cost of such printing be reimbursed by the conference organiser.

1) Poster Presentation Specifications
  • Poster maximum size: A0
  • Please note that the orientation format of your poster should be portrait.
  • Posters should display the abstract title, authors (underline presenting author’s name), institutions and affiliations.
  • Suggested sections of the poster include: objectives, methods, results and conclusion.
  • Every element, including graphs and tables, must be readable from a distance of 1.5 – 2 meters.

​2) Display and presentation
Set-up and dismantle: Authors are fully responsible for the setting up and dismantling of their poster according to the schedule below:

​Posters not removed by their authors on time will be taken down by staff and no responsibility can be taken for their safe return.
 
Each poster board is numbered, corresponding with your poster number. A list will be available onsite with the reference number, poster title and name of presenting author. Velcros will be provided on site.

Poster presenters are encouraged to be available to discuss their posters with the conference participants during the breaks  and scheduled poster display sessions.
